BIMI Record Checker

BIMI puts your brand logo next to your emails in supporting inboxes. It requires DMARC at p=quarantine or p=reject and an SVG logo served over HTTPS. Gmail and Yahoo display the logo with a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or a Common Mark Certificate (CMC); Gmail's blue verified checkmark requires a VMC. Apple Mail requires a VMC. A CMC is the no-trademark path.

Frequently asked questions

What is a BIMI record?

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is a DNS TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com that points to your brand logo (an SVG) and, for most inboxes, a Verified Mark Certificate. Supporting receivers render the logo next to authenticated mail from your domain.

Why is my BIMI logo not showing?

The most common cause is DMARC: BIMI only renders when DMARC is at p=quarantine or p=reject and the message passes. Other causes are an SVG that breaks the strict BIMI profile, a missing or expired certificate, or the logo being served with the wrong content type.

Do I need a VMC for BIMI?

For the logo in Gmail and Yahoo you need a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or a Common Mark Certificate (CMC); Apple Mail and Gmail's blue verified checkmark require a VMC specifically. A VMC proves a registered trademark to the logo; a CMC is the no-trademark path.

What is the DMARC requirement for BIMI?

Your domain must be at DMARC enforcement: p=quarantine or p=reject, not p=none. That is why BIMI is often described as the reward for finishing the DMARC rollout. Check your DMARC posture first, then publish BIMI.
